I live in South Texas, which has just had two days of the lowest temperatures on record and an ice storm. I'll write more about this in this week's Quick Takes, but a few bullet points...
-We are alive and ok. Working with a "brownout" that's lasted two days, so we can't use the heater, oven, or pretty much anything else that uses electricity. We have been able to charge phones and battery packs for phones, which has been a blessing.
-Propane heaters and stoves are awesome. Hank Hill was on to something.
-We've avoided water breaks. Many of our friends and relatives haven't been as lucky.
-Heck of a start to Lent, huh?
