Happy Mother's Day!!
Between a busy weekend, a surprise visit from my brother in college, and a whole lot of veggies from the garden...
I've been a little too busy to write, or even take many pictures with my phone (or do laundry...it's backed up to the point of discouraging). Hopefully this week I'll be able to carve out some time to catch everyone up properly.
Those look like calabacitas! Are they Mexican squash?
ReplyDeleteYes, I think so. We call them "grey zucchini" over here, but I'm pretty sure they're the same thing. I wanted to try them instead of the "black beauty" ones I've grown in the past because I kept seeing them pop up in the more "Mexican" grocery stores down here and I thought they might do better if they're more local to this climate. I think they did about the same, but I like the flavor and they don't seem to get tough skin as fast if I miss one for awhile harvesting, so I think I'm going to keep growing them.
DeleteLaundry is so sneaky you think you can get by for a day or two without running a load, and then poof! Five loads appear out of nowhere , or someone has the stomach flu. Task of Sisyphus!
ReplyDeleteMy dryer is currently broken - we have the parts - just need the time to fix. And I live where it's been gray and cloudy and so humid for the past week - I hung things up to dry and it took 3 days. So I just watch the pile grow and hope no one has any accidents in the near future.
I hope you are busy with good and happy things.
We've avoided a sick load of laundry for a couple weeks, thankfully. Been having some potty training related laundry though.
DeleteI hope your dryer gets fixed soon.
